Stride Academy is an Internet-based academic program that gives students the opportunity to enhance their Math, Reading, Science and Language Arts skills while working on their tablet or computer. Because it combines learning with exciting online games, students see Stride Academy as a fun way to master skills that are required for their grade level. Stride Academy’s activities are based on Common Core State Standards. Your student will be bringing home more information from their teacher regarding Stride Academy.
Through a process called the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), we gather input from students, teachers, parents, community members, and public agencies to determine goals, actions and budget priorities for our schools.

Smarter Balanced is recruiting K–12 and post-secondary educators, administrators, parents, and community/business leaders to participate on an online panel for setting Achievement Levels for its assessments. This process is often referred to as “standard setting.” This is a critical opportunity for participants to ensure that the score results from the Common Core-aligned assessments are based on rigorous, yet fair expectations for students.

The Newman FFA Floral Design class supports approximately 30 students at OHS. Every month, students learn new skills and techniques that are used in floral design. They create everything from basic table arrangements to elaborate wreaths. This year we are offering membership to people who would like to support our students by pre-ordering arrangements. Supporters will receive student made arrangements throughout the fall and spring months.
